.SE Domain Registration

The dot SE country-code TLD was launched in 1986 and given to Sweden. During the first years after its introduction, the registration process was pretty restrictive, so a very low number of domains were ordered. Persons could reserve only one domain under .PP.SE (“pp” stands for “private person”). Local presence was a must, i.e. merely Swedish persons, businesses and organizations were able to reserve a dot SE domain. In 2003, however, the registration process was liberalized notably and, consequently, the number of .SE domains has been increasing each year.

At present, anyone can buy a dot SE domain, which allows you to contact the Swedish web community even if you do not have a local presence. We are amongst the registrars that offer such domains, considering the fact that they cannot be purchased directly from the Registry organization. We can also help you with the registration process because the Registry needs certain documents such as an ID for individuals or a registration certificate for businesses. The dot SE top-level domain is also one of the domain extensions that can be used for the so-called “domain hacks”, i.e. using a domain with a certain TLD to represent a word. Such a name will also be easy to share, which can increase the popularity of your site.
